What's Scrip?
The scrip program generates income for Eugene Waldorf School with a percentage of your purchases being donated to the school by local and national retailers. Parents and other school supporters purchase scrip, which looks and works just like gift certificates or gift cards, except that the school receives a percentage of the face value of the scrip. For example, a $20 scrip coupon costs $20 to purchase, and is worth $20 at the store — but the school gets a percentage (typically 5-10%) as a donation, at no cost to the purchaser. Check out our complete Scrip 101 Guide for even more info. GLSC has a great "How Scrip Works" page as well.
Eugene Waldorf has an extensive scrip program. Starting in the 2006-2007 school year, we began a requirement for all families to either participate in the scrip program, or opt out to pay an additional fee toward tuition. We go to great lengths to make scrip easy–and even fun–for everyone.
Scrip is available in the mornings, at the scrip table in the Community Room (the room with the parent mailboxes) during school; and during most events and parent meetings. Contact the office if you have questions or would like to arrange to pick up your scrip at another time.

National Scrip
Starting in the 2006-2007 school year we have added national scrip to the program, in part because many national retailer's scrip donation percentages are quite high. We carry some national scrip cards, though the selection varies — check with our scrip table for availability. Generally national scrip is pre-ordered, with about a 5 day turnaround. The selection of retailers is quite extensive.

eScrip
EWS also participates in the eScrip.com network of electronic scrip. eScrip is great because once you're fully registered it's an effortless way to support the school. However, because the percentage tends to be rather low, we do not suggest relying on eScrip alone. Rather, it's a great adjunct to our other scrip avenues. Paper forms are available at the scrip table in the community room, or you can register yourself here.
