Weather Closure Guidelines
EWS generally follows Eugene School District 4J’s weather closure decisions. We will always close or have a delayed start if 4J does. However, there are times when we may opt to implement a closure or delay based on the conditions of the hill and our parking lot, even if 4J does not.
On mornings when the weather seems questionable, we will post our school’s status no later than 7:00 am on:
- This page.
- The school's answering machine.
- Radio stations KLCC 89.7 FM, KRVM 91.9 FM, and KUGN 590 AM.
If we have a two-hour delay, there will be no pre-school or kindergarten. When conditions warrant a two-hour delay on a Thursday, we will cancel school. After school care will be available as usual for grades children on delayed-start days.
