Maren Tomblin

Maren Tomblin

Maren grew up in the “little big city” of Iowa City, Iowa. Her favorite memories of the midwest include sparkling fireflies, booming thunderstorms, snow deeper than a small child is tall and the sounds of birdsong. After earning her B.A. in Fine Arts she set off westward with her husband, Adam, in search of that perfect blend of midwest pragmatism and west coast magic.

Upon arriving in Eugene, Maren embarked on the Master of Architecture program at University of Oregon, finishing the program in 2002. After numerous positions and moves across the country, the birth of her two boys brought a joyful new role of parent. Maren was drawn to Waldorf through examples of handcraft done in the schools. It is no surprise she has assisted in the handwork classroom at EWS since 2014.

In 2018 Maren is excited to take on a new role within the school as PR/Enrollment Coordinator. She looks forward to helping the broader community get to know EWS and the beauty that is created here each day. Maren, Adam, Elias and Soren live with four cats, numerous houseplants and a lot of wool in southeast Eugene.
