Tuition 2026 - 2027
Like numerous Waldorf schools, the Eugene Waldorf School began as a grassroots initiative. Parents seeking a Waldorf education for their growing children brought a trained teacher to Eugene, and from there the school took root, opening its doors in 1980. Today, Eugene Waldorf School offers a parent-child class, two preschools, two kindergartens, and grades 1–8. EWS is one of nearly 2,000 Waldorf schools worldwide and part of the largest independent school movement in the world. Waldorf education is a healing education, and in today’s world it nurtures the capacities most needed now: empathy, resilience, and clear, independent thinking.
At the heart of Waldorf education is a simple truth: all children deserve an education that meets them with dignity and possibility. Holding to this ideal has always been our compass.
Indexed Tuition is a formula‑based system that places each family’s tuition within a set range using factors such as income, household size, local median income, and documented obligations.
This approach provides a consistent, transparent starting point for determining tuition and supports our commitment to clarity, fairness, and financial sustainability. Indexed Tuition allows us to serve a more diverse range of families, distribute tuition more fairly, and create long-term stability for our school. It also increases transparency and reduces confusion.
We’re excited to share our Indexed Tuition Range for the 2026–2027 school year, a result of months of research and a renewed commitment to making Waldorf education accessible to as many families as possible
Indexed Tuition Assistance (TADS)
The Eugene Waldorf School’s indexed tuition system is based on a family’s financial resources. Individual family determinations will be processed by an online financial application through TADS, a third-party assessment service. Families will be able to create an online account and complete the financial application for our school.
Parents may apply for indexed tuition via TADS. Applications and all supporting documentation should be submitted as soon as possible. Parents will be notified of their indexed tuition determination by email.
The TADS application fee is $60 per family.
Families who choose to pay the maximum tuition amount are not required to complete the financial application via TADS.

Continuous Enrollment
The journey through the Eugene Waldorf School curriculum is envisioned to begin in the early childhood program and end with graduation from eighth grade. Therefore, students are automatically re-enrolled each year through the completion of eighth grade. Updated tuition and fees for the coming school year will be posted in February on the school’s website and in the school office. New students are initially admitted with a six-week provisional period within which time both parent and school may review the student’s progress and compatibility within the class. If the student withdraws during this provisional period for any reason, tuition is due and payable up to and including the date of withdrawal. After the end of the provisional period, the student is automatically enrolled.

At our school, enrollment is a thoughtful, relational process designed to ensure a good, heart-centered fit for your child.
Our steps include:
The first step in our enrollment process is to place an inquiry online or connect with our enrollment coordinator, Desirea Stott-Rodgers by phone (541-683-6951 ext 103) or email.
A visit to our campus, where you can experience the rhythm and feeling of the school, our community and Waldorf pedagogy.
A completed application, giving us a sense of your child and family.
A family meeting with the lead teacher, a warm conversation to get to know one another, to understand your child’s needs, and to nurture a rooted beginning.
A signed contract, confirming your enrollment and intention to join the life of the school.
Completed enrollment forms, which help us prepare to welcome your child fully into the life of the class and school community.
The first six weeks of enrollment serve as a settling-in period, during which we will work closely with you to ensure that our school is the right fit and that we can best support your child. Each step in this process is guided by care, not haste; by listening, not simply paperwork. Each moment of this process reflects our belief that when families and teachers come together with intention, children step into school not just ready to learn, but ready to belong.
