Educating The Whole Child
In our early childhood classrooms, teachers create a warm, nurturing environment that feels like an extension of home, where children can grow through relationship, imitation, play and exploration. The close and caring connection between teacher and child provides a foundation of trust and belonging, allowing each child to develop at their own pace.
The rhythm of the day creates a consistent, peaceful atmosphere where children can enliven their imaginations, strengthen their will and engage in meaningful play. Beautiful, home-like classrooms filled with natural materials and simple beauty invite children to experience the world with wonder while building the foundations for creative, conceptual and abstract thinking.

Classroom Setting
When entering our early childhood classrooms, you will feel a sweet sensation of comfort and beauty. You will find handmade items, silks, wooden toys, and other natural materials in our early childhood classrooms. Creating a classroom setting that brings in pieces from nature helps strengthen their relationship with the natural world around them. Handmade toys give the child a sense of wonder, awe, and appreciation for the items in their classroom, and soft materials and colors bring the child a sense of relaxation and comfort.

Robin’s Nest Aftercare
The Robin's Nest provides a warm, home-like atmosphere for Early Childhood students and offers after-school care from 1:00-5:30 pm.
From 1:00-3:15 pm, children enjoy the comfort of a gentle rhythm without the demands of structured activities. Space is provided for creative play both indoors and outdoors, and craft materials are available for activities such as finger knitting and coloring. Teachers may also lead games, nature walks or stories.
For families who need care extended later in the day, extended care is available from 3:15-5:30 pm. The afternoon continues with a familiar rhythm, offering children time for play, connection, creative work and rest as the day gradually comes to a close.
To enroll in the Robin's Nest, please email Nicole Morrison at nicole.morrison@eugenewaldorf.org. Robin's Nest is available to Early Childhood students for an additional fee. You can find the current rates here.
